Welcome to the InfiniteMac community forum. We try to encourage all form of discussion and debate, but, as with all forums and online communities we have a set of rules and guidelines that should be respected and adhered to.

The following rules have been put in place to be as fair, open and reasonable as possible. They are designed to clarify various responsibilities of community members here at InfiniteMac. Please read and become familiar with them, their terms are retroactive and agreed by team and group members.

1.) Search the forums before you post your topic. Your question or comment may have already been discussed, answered, or resolved.

2.) Create a concise subject that adequately summarises your topic. For example "Mac OS X 10.5.6 update broke my Mac" is much more informative than "HELP ME FIX THIS!" or "I've got an error!". Being descriptive also helps future readers when performing a search.

3.) Double-posting (or cross-posting) the same post (or similar posts) in different forums will cause confusion and most likely reduce chances or receiving a valid resolution for the topic. Please do not bump threads.

4.) Be patient. Do not expect an answer immediately. All the users of this community are using the forum and participating in discussions in their own time.

5.) Help others. This forum is a community and works best when people share information and assist one another to the best of their abilities.

6.) Use coherent English where possible. Whilst it is understandable that English is not the first language of many of our users, InfiniteMac requests that users try, wherever possible, to use English, such that all other users may be able to understand the discussion. Further to this, "leet speak" is very much frowned upon and will result in the post being deleted.

7.) Be constructive. If you don't have anything good to say then don't say anything at all. Constructive criticism is welcome, derogatory
comments are not.

8.) Respect one another. InfiniteMac is a friendly place and we want to keep it that way. We will not tolerate any form of racism, victimisation, slander or hateful content. Flaming or abusing users in any way will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning. Members are asked to not act as “back seat moderators”. If members note an issue which contravenes something in the rules they should bring it to the attention of a member of Staff. Please use the “report post” feature so that the situation can be dealt with appropriately.

9.) No Warez. Members are asked to respect the copyright of other users, sites, media, etc. Users linking to or asking for information on warez, crackz, torrents etc. will receive a warning and their post will be removed.

10.) The posting of Mac OS X files are not permitted. Only links to pure open source (darwin) kexts or or open source/community created software will be permitted. Software or kexts that have been hacked, reverse engineered or taken directly from Apple are not permitted due to copyright laws.

11.) No inappropriate content. We ask our members to realise that this board is aimed at a general audience. Posting pornographic or generally offensive text, language, images, links, etc. will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning.

12.) Failure to adhere to rules will result in a warning and a possible ban.

The rules set above cover a wide and varying range of subject matter. We ask all of our members to exercise good judgement and common sense when interacting within this forum. These rules are subject to change. Please check back frequently for the benefit of the individual and the community.

An infraction system with a three strike policy has now been employed.
If a user receives an infraction they will each receive an infraction point and a warning. However, if multiple infractions are incurred then the following penalties will be imposed upon the user:
3 infraction points = a three day temporary ban
6 infractions points = a seven day temporary ban
9 infractions points = a permanent ban
Infraction points will generally expire after 90 days (excluding permanently banned accounts).
