My specs are:
AMD Phenom II X4 940 processor
ASUS M4A77TD motherboard
6 GB DDR3 RAM
EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX 512 video card

From what I've been able to gleam from the OSX86 HCL, it looks like "Snow Leopard 10.6.1-10.6.2 SSE2-SSE3 Intel/AMD by Hazard" is going to be the best distro with the NVEnabler 64 kext for my video card.

Anyone have a better distro to use/words of wisdom for me after using that distro?

i needed different IOPCIFamily.kext and IOUSBFamily.kext to get usb working. voodoohda got sound.
i am sure that the webcam worked in photobooth after install but now the webcam (lgwebcam) shows up but only get blank screen
soooo.... what is most likely to have stopped the webcam working, or, what actually drives it?

partioned a 30gb space thru windows disk mngnmt, booted using dvd image of iatkos v7 burned at 5x speed. i didnt know any commands sometimes i use the f8 and -v or i just hit enter and let it do its thing. Erase partioned drive, pick osx....journaled.. Now i dont know anything about the customize options so i left it alone. Installation took very long, some times it reboots half way thru but it says installation successful and it reboots automatically. I took the cd out, and i guess it booted to the chameleon 2.02.. screen with 2 logos to choose. Windows ntfs or osx mac disk 02, doesnt matter which one i chose it keeps rebooting. I thought that worked and try to use easybcd v2.0.2 but i dont see the osx86 options and oh yea i did have to repair windows using command prompt. I been trying to getmac on my pc for 2 days without success any help plz.

I already had 10.5.6 Leopard (iDeneb 1.6 lite version) on my external hard drive (and it is still there, in case I need it), but I decided to install Snow Leopard to my internal hard drive...

So, there multiple things that don't work, but that's not the question for now... I wanted to install XCode, but it asked me for 10.6.4 update. So, I went do Software Update, downloaded 10.6.4 Combo Update, and installed.

All went fine. After reboot, my system was not booting. It didn't appear the grey screen with the apple logo, just a black screen... And then it restarted.

So, booted in verbose mode to see what happened. It said something like this:

VGA compatible controller : Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03) (controller not available)

But this is strange, since the Graphics always worked well, on Leopard and Snow Leopard... It's just an issue after the update, and I don't know why.

That's why I'm here asking for help... I really would like to boot into my dear Snow Kitty again, to test some more kexts, and such. :P

I had the common 1024x768 resolution issue on my hackintosh. So I installed the GMA4500 kext and got everything squared away; however, after doing so my mouse cursor is stuck on the top left side of the screen. The mouse works because I can click and the object bar expands when I move around, but the cursor doesn't move. Someone on another forum mentioned replacing voodoops2 but I can't find it anywhere on my system. I made a backup of the drive before installing the GMA4500 kext so I was wondering. Since the mouse was working fine before installing these kext, can I back up the kext for the mouse and track pad, then install the GMA...kext, then re-install the kext for the mouse and track pad? Does anyone know what, or where it is located and if this is even possible? Thanks in advance.
